I have searched online for a while now trying to find the latest search engine optimization(SEO) tactics across the internet. But does anybody really know how it all works? I mean it is not likely that the search engine creators are going to share this information. If they did then it would become useless with so many sites created the exact same way trying to manipulate the search engines in there favor. So which instructions are you going to follow when you do find advice? which ever gets you to the top and does not get you penalized by search engines.

See, I have heard just about everything under the sun about SEO. Tricks like making your keywords stand out is said to work well but what boost do you get from it. Doing this alone will not get you anywhere fast. I see people linking their keywords to websites like Wikipedia but that only helps them not you. This is one of the answers of why that site can mostly be found on the top of results of most search phrases. How about keyword density. Some say ten percent or so of text should hold your keywords and others want more used. Sure, you can not just add in your keywords one hundred times in your pages but how much is too much?

Then there are those SEO tips that suggest that you should have your keywords in your url. This strategy can be successful to some websites but there are lots of sites that can get listed above them without the keyword being seen what so ever. So doing this does not make it that easy. There most be more to it than that.

Search Engines still look at your meta tags title and descriptions. Or you can let the search engines decide what to display. For me I choose the meta tags because my results are better. For those who do not then make sure you put what you want to be on page one on in the first view sentences of content to make it easy for the bots to know what your website is created for.

How about all those sneaky schemes for SEO people use. You know like filling a site with really small text packed with keyword phrases or stuffing lots of keywords in the alt code in images. Those things only work for a specific time and then you get dropped to like page 500 or so. If I were you I would not use any of those techniques.

The best way to go is using well written text with free backlinks from reliable sites are still the only wat to do it. Updating your content regularly will keep the search engines coming back. Backlinks will tell them how admired your site is. But your links should come from more than one source. Be sure to shake it up a bit with good backlinks from forums, review sites, videos, blogs, article directories and more. There are more things you can do but those are two of top seo tactics out there.

Well I can go on forever about what people tell me about SEO but there is no need to. You need to find what works and when it is successful then replicate it for all of your sites and pages. With a little trial and error you could end up on page one in a few weeks or so.
