What Amount Of Keyword Density A Website Can Have

31 July 2009 60 views No Comment

Should the proper percent of keyword density put you on page one? Well, alone it may not but is still important to consider. Keyword density can improve your chances but only if it is done right. Too much can make you look overzealous but if understated this will mislead the search engines and it may search for a different word to place well on results. Just how should you go about this anyway? That is the million dollar question.

Determining what keyword density you need takes a bit of luck. It has ben said that 5% of your page should be your keyword density while varies webmasters promote 8% to 16%. I have also heard the notion of using your keywords once for every 100 words you use. I could sit here all day and relay you what some people believe but the only ones that really know are the programmers of the search engines themselves. You can always try asking them if you like but I would not think that they would tell you. How search engines algorithms works is the biggest secret out their. It should be or site owners would create their websites the exact same way just distorting the results for all.

I have seen programmers use underhanded tactics like adding there keywords in on the lower part of the page con the search engines. I would not try this if I were you because it only works for a brief moment and then you get put somewhere an page 1000 or so. Others have use their alternative title tags in the image box for the purposes of jamming keywords in. This may add to your keyword density but you will pay for it later.

It looks like search engines read keyword density in two completely different groups. How much the words are grouped sibe by side and how much the words can be found separately. To witness this for yourself the next time you type in a keyword phrase look at a website in the “cached” section. There you will find words for the search phrase in different colors where ever it can be found in text. It looks like if the keyword phrase is grouped then you get a small boost in result. Especially when you have it grouped in your mega title and mega description. But it will not tell you whether or not your keyword density is too high or too low.

Between you and me, I would not be considered so much about keyword density. More infosys is carried by one way backlinks that are linked from your keywords to your page. Just make sure you use your keyword phrase on the page from time to time and build your links. Keyword density is just a piece of the puzzle and can not alone put you on page one unless the keyword phrase is not that heavily competed for. But what is the purpose of being on page one if no one is typing it in the search engines.
